Copperfield's, Santa Rosa CA

6 fabulous stores in Sonoma and Napa counties

Copperfields Books HealdsburgHave you been to Copperfield’s Books lately? These fabulous stores – with six locations in Sonoma and Napa counties – have always been terrific places for readers to browse, but now they’re taking shape as comfortable haunts for writers as well.
As part of a reinvention of the stores’ events programs last summer, they’ve added some interesting twists. They’ve stirred in some food, with Copperfield’s Cooks as well as a series of high tea with authors. Copperfield’s Pairings combines fabulous libations with terrific authors, like my friend Cara Black, who will be the Pairings author on March 14 (wine at an art gallery!).Copperfields Books logo My personal favorite, though, is the Copperfield’s Book Club Spotlight series. Admittedly, I may have a bias: I will be a Book Club Spotlight author July 17, the day after The Wednesday Daughters hits bookstore shelves. But I do belong to more than one book club, and have visited a whole lot more, so don’t throw your leftover bookclub guacamole at me!
Copperfields Books PetalumaIf you don’t have plans for this Tuesday night, Copperfield’s Books is hosting The Written Word: a Mixer for writers, bloggers, authors, copywriters, screenwriters, editors, printers, publishers, readers, illustrators, graphic artists, proofreaders, and pretty much anyone who loves writing and/or books. It’s a kick off for their new Writer Spotlight series line-up, which includes Natalie Goldberg. I’m traveling, so won’t be able to make it, but if you go, please tell them I said hello! – Meg
